Scan Data. When you submit a URL for scanning, we store the URL, scan results (scores, issues, AI-generated report), and timestamp. Scans submitted without an account are anonymous.

Email Address. If you subscribe to our newsletter, create an API key, or purchase a plan, we collect your email address.

API Keys. If you generate an API key, we store the key, associated email (if provided), usage counts, and subscription tier.

Payment Information. Payments are processed by our third-party provider, Creem. We do not store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details. We receive only your email and subscription status from Creem.

2. How We Use Your Information

To perform website scans and generate reports
To display public leaderboard rankings and activity feeds (URL and score only)
To enforce API rate limits and manage subscriptions
To send transactional emails (e.g., magic link login, score alerts) if you opt in
To improve our service and fix bugs

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

Google PageSpeed Insights API — to analyze the URLs you submit. Google's privacy policy applies to their processing of those URLs.
Cloudflare — for hosting, DNS, and database infrastructure. Data is processed under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Creem — for payment processing. Creem's privacy policy applies to payment data.

4. Cookies

PageGuard does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. We may use essential cookies (e.g., session tokens) for authentication if you create an account.

5. Data Retention

Scan results are retained indefinitely to support historical comparisons and leaderboard rankings. You may request deletion of your scan data or account by contacting us at support@pageguard.org.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@pageguard.org.

7. Children's Privacy

PageGuard is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
